Following demolition of a former sheltered accommodation unit on the site, this scheme for Progress Housing Group in partnership with Leicestershire County Council provided a new 2 storey assisted living scheme. A total of 8 assisted living residential units were supported with communal facilities and staff accommodation in this Wigston, Leicestershire, development. The £1.5M proposals included specially appointed bathrooms and kitchens, as well as assisted facilities.

Project summary: Regeneration of brownfield site to create eight assisted living residential units, with communal facilities and staff accommodation in Wigston, Leicester.

Challenges faced: Redevelopment of site in an existing residential area.
Outcome achieved: Pleasant, airy residential apartments in landscaped grounds, built in classic red brick with traditional quality stone features.
