Affordable Housing
Foan Hill
On the site of former waste ground and garages, this infill development was in conjunction with East Midlands Housing Association and Midlands Rural to meet identified housing need in the North West Leicestershire village of Swannington. The development of 2 bungalows and 3 houses included a house for shared ownership, with the other properties for rent. Extensive local consultation was undertaken with nearby residents and the parish council. The site was bordered by a steep slope covered in trees under a protection order, so the involvement of the local authority was key to the success of this development, which included habitat and wildlife surveys.
