Currently nearing completion on site, this £1.2M scheme in Plaistow, near West Ham, London is for the creation of a new Childrens’ Centre on the site of Plaistow Primary School. The scheme is designed to provide 4 classroom spaces with ancillary accommodation, a meeting room and a new entrance. The entrance is to be the main entrance to the adjacent school as well as to the Childrens’ Centre, with security of pupils a key consideration. Sweeping roofs are designed to provide some external covered play spaces as well as preventing solar overheating of the classroom spaces.

Outcome achieved: Contemporary teaching spaces flowing from interior to exterior and secure environment for the entire school site. Centralised under 5’s support services.
