Sustainable Development is "development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." This requires response and action from individuals as well as from governments.

For KPW Architects, sustainability is about far more than just following a policy. As a company, we strive to minimise our impact on the environment, and for our clients we will bring our knowledge and understanding of sustainable technologies to bear on their projects.

KPW Architects have extensive experience in providing sustainable developments which include such items as Air Source Heat Pumps, use of Solar Energy, Biomass Boilers, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Sustainable Drainage, Green Roofs and Natural Ventilation. All projects involve consideration of how, through appropriate design, the impact of a development can be reduced, not only in terms of energy efficiency of a completed project, but providing for reduced waste and construction impact through careful selection of materials and products.

We are fully conversant with the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM, and are able to offer practical solutions which put sustainability at the core of design.
